Troops kill top terrorists commanders, Turji desperate to escape — CDS

  The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa, has said the relentless military onslaught against terrorists in Zamfara State has thrown notorious terrorist kingpin Bello Turji into a desperate scramble for escape. Musa also said the elimination of two of his top commanders, Kachalla Gwammade and Kachalla Shehu on Thursday night has sent shivers down the spine of Turji.   NYSC Scheme, A True Symbol Of National Unity – Gov. Uzodinmma

    IMO – The Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has described the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme as the only true symbol of national unity and development, where the graduate youths from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds pursue the common goal of rendering selfless service to the Nation.

He said Nigeria currently can only rely on the unalloyed support of the Scheme to achieve its goal of uniting the people.

Addressing the 1146 registered Corps Members at the Swearing-In ceremony /official opening of the 2024 Batch C Stream ll Orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Eziama Obaire Nkwerre LGA, he tasked them to continue to take up the responsibility of fostering national unity and development.

He equally encouraged them to work assiduously towards boosting the Agro economy of the State.

Representing the Special Guest, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Hon. Dr. Emeka Ukaegbu, encouraged the corps members to avail themselves of all the opportunities presented by the orientation course to improve on their skills and creativity to prepare them for self employment and financial independence.

The Corps Members were further assured of the state government’s readiness to provide adequate security for them, saying those who credibly discharged their duties during the service year would be rewarded.

The NYSC Imo State Coordinator, Mrs Rachel Idaewor, in her introductory address, informed the Corps Members that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure they participate in all scheduled activities while encouraging them to adhere strictly to laws guiding the orientation course.

Mrs Idaewor used the opportunity to express her appreciation to the State Government and the good people of Imo State for their support and assistance while soliciting continued aid to the Scheme.
